The Trojans open the 2017 season on the road against non-region opponent UMS-Wright on Friday, September 1 at Erwin S. Cooper Stadium. Last year the UMS-Wright Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 9-3 and in third place in Class 4A region one. The Bulldogs lost in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs to Handley by a score of 20-14. Charles Henderson and UMS-Wright have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Trojans have a 2-2-0 record against the Bulldogs. They last met in 2016 with UMS-Wright winning by a score of 32-31. Charles Henderson returns 5A All-State Senior kicker Cameron Bush.
